Welcome to Providence! As you get settled in, one of your first questions is probably "When is my garbage day?" We have generated this interactive GIS map to help you determine this answer. Type in your address to find your collection day for garbage, recycling and green waste.
Garbage and green waste are collected weekly, while recycling bins are emptied every other week (A/B schedule). The 2026 Waste Collection Schedule marks the recycling weeks and holidays that will and will not have collection done. Collection days may be adjusted around holiday schedules. Schedule adjustment announcements will be posted on the Providence City social media pages and will be sent using our Providence Pipeline messaging service. Click here to sign up for this service.

These are monthly rates included in your utility bill. If you would like to add or cancel any cans, please contact our office.
As of May 2024, Providence City contracts with Clean Slate Waste for all waste collection.

As you fill and put out your garbage bins, here are a few reminders:
- Collection starts as early as 6:30 a.m., so have your cans to the curb by then. The night before is a great option!
- Collection may run as late as 8 p.m. If your can has not been collected, leave it out until it is.
- Holidays affect the pickup schedule. If there is a paid city holiday on a regular collection day, the city-wide schedule will be pushed back a day.
- Please do not overfill your cans! This causes garbage to spill out as is it dumped into the trucks, which can cause problems, messes and delays.
Recycling is collected every other week. Visit the GIS map and enter your address to determine which week yours will be picked up and follow the 2026 Waste Collection Schedule. Please remember recycling materials should not be bagged.
Things that CAN be recycled locally include:
- #1 and #2 plastics (clear bottles, milk jugs)
- Newspaper
- Mixed paper
- Phone books
- Magazines/catalogs
- Corrugated cardboard
- Paperboard/cardboard packaging (cereal boxes, paper bags, etc.)
- Soda cans
- Tin/steel cans
- Small metal pieces
Please rinse containers and remove lids before placing in bin
Things that CANNOT be recycled locally include:
- #3-7 plastics (colored bottles, food containers, medicine bottles)
- Styrofoam
- Plastic bags
- Glass
- Anything with food remnants
- Green waste
- Foil wrapping paper or ribbons
- Aluminum foil or pans
- Diapers
- Disposable plates, napkins, etc.
- Chip and pet food bags
- Shredded paper
- Coated food and drink cartons (juice boxes, milk cartons, etc.)
- Materials that held motor oil
- Clothing
Glass can be taken to the recycling bin at 981 South Main St. in Logan
Curbside green waste bins are collected weekly. Green waste collection will begin March 30 and run through November 20, though weather may affect the start and end dates. Please keep the following information in mind as you fill your can.
Materials Accepted at the Green Waste Facility:
- Grass
- Leaves
- Clean Hay & Straw
- Branches
- Shrubs
- Garden Waste
Materials Not Accepted in the Green Waste Facility:
- Rocks
- Gravel
- Dirt
- Sod
- Tree Root Balls
- Painted or Treated Wood
- Anything over 6 ft. in length or 36 inches in diameter
- Glass
- Garbage
Providence City no longer has a green waste dumpster at the Public Works Building. Any green waste materials that do not fit in your bin will need to be taken to the Green Waste Facility at the Logan Landfill.
