Providence City Receives National Recognition for Annual Budget Presentation

PROVIDENCE, Utah – Providence City has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its budget for the 2023-24 fiscal year, as presented by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).

 

This marks the fourth consecutive year Providence has received the award. The annual budget is prepared by fourth-year city manager Ryan Snow, with input and approval from other department managers, Mayor Kathleen Alder and the Providence City Council.

 

The award reflects the commitment of the recipients to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. Those receiving the budget award must satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation.

 

Providence is one of over 1,700 participants in the Budget Awards Program. Award recipients are those that have pioneered efforts to improve the quality of budgeting and provide an excellent example for other government agencies throughout North America.

 

The GFOA advances excellence in government finance by providing best practices, professional development, resources and practical research for more than 22,500 members and the community they serve.
