UDOT SR-165 Rehabilitated Project in Nibley

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) has asked us to help keep the community updated on the repaving project in Nibley on SR-165. This project will repair previous road damage, extend the roadway's life and improve the ride. UDOT will remove the top 2.5" of asphalt and replace those 2.5" with new asphalt. This is part of UDOT's mission to be proactive in the preservation of the current infrastructure. Click here for more information.

Work continues on SR-165 in Nibley between 2600 South and 4400 South. Residents can expect construction crews in the area Monday through Saturday between the hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Construction crews are expected to finish applying the first layer of asphalt on mainline of SR-165 and at the approaches onto the road by August 11. The project will then start applying a chip seal layer onto the road on August 14. The chip sealing helps with traction of the road and seals the asphalt. Crews will also begin replacing signs and will continue their work replacing guardrail along the project. Please remember that while construction activities are occurring at intersections in the project limits, there may be delays up to one hour for turning patterns on/off of SR-165.

Traffic will continue to be shifted as paving operations occur:
• During morning peak hours (7 a.m. to 9 a.m.) two lanes of traffic will be open going northbound on SR-165.
• During evening peak hours:
- Monday through Thursday (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.) one lane of traffic will be open going southbound on SR-165.
- Friday (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.) two lanes of traffic will be open going southbound on SR-165.
• During off peak hours there will be one lane of road open in each direction.

During construction motorists, can expect uneven and rough pavement in the project area. Motorists should expect up to a maximum of 15 minute delays during work hours. If your travel is time sensitive, you may want to consider an alternative route. This project is expected to continue until August 31

Updated information is available at “www.udot.utah.gov/go/SR165_Nibley” or by emailing “SR165_Nibley@utah.gov”. Stakeholders can also call the project hotline at (801) 707-3662.
